Accessibility Statement

go-e GmbH endeavours to ensure that its websites are accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility of Federal Websites and Mobile Applications (Web Accessibility Act – WZG), Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019, as amended.

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

https://go-e.com/

https://shop.go-e.com/

Status of compliance with the requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, these web pages are partially compliant with Level AA of the ‘Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1’ and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Content that is not accessible

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a. Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

Applies to various URLs

  • All orange buttons with white text (including inverted buttons), buttons with orange text and an outline, all links with orange text, and blue text on a blue background have insufficient contrast, meaning that success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast, Minimum) is not met. This is primarily due to the fact that the colour values actually required would deviate significantly from the corporate design guidelines of go-e GmbH, to the extent that the go-e brand would no longer be recognisable. However, the contrasts have already been adjusted in accordance with the guideline, deviating from the company’s corporate design, to a degree that go-e considers reasonable.
  • Some images, mainly older ones, do not have alternative text, meaning that success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) is not met.

Efforts are underway to rectify the issues.

b. Disproportionate burden

  • All of our videos are published on YouTube. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos. Consequently, success criterion 1.2.5 (recorded audio description) is not met. We believe that rectifying this would constitute a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.
  • Many older PDF documents and infographics are not fully accessible; for example, PDF documents are not tagged, meaning that screen reader users cannot access or use them, or can only do so to a limited extent. This means that success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role, value) is not met. Given the volume and complexity of these documents, particularly older files, as well as limited technical and human resources, achieving full accessibility—especially retroactively—for these documents would currently represent a disproportionate burden. We will endeavour to provide accessible versions as soon as possible.

c. Content that is not subject to accessibility requirements

  • Third-party content and features, such as embedded maps, social media feeds, YouTube videos and widgets, which are beyond the control of go-e GmbH, are excluded from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No statement can be made regarding the compliance of this third-party content with accessibility requirements.
  • Live videos are not subtitled. This means that success criterion 1.2.4 (live subtitles) is not met. Live videos are exempt from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. We do not plan to subtitle live videos.

The FFG will examine the complaints to determine whether they relate to violations of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular failures to comply with accessibility requirements, by the Federal Government or an institution under its authority.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG must issue recommendations for action to the Federal Government or the relevant legal entities and propose measures designed to remedy the identified shortcomings.
