go-e Charger Gemini vs go-e Charger Gemini flex: What's the difference?

Last updated: Sep 6, 20222 minutes read

You want to buy a go-e Charger, but you're not quite sure whether you should go for the go-e Charger Gemini or the go-e Charger Gemini flex?

Which charging station is the better choice for your situation?

That's what we're explaining here in this blog post, so you can make the right decision.

The go-e Charger Gemini and the go-e Charger Gemini flex are the successor models of the go-eCharger HOME series.

The go-e Charger Gemini is a Stationary Wallbox

The go-e Charger Gemini and the go-e Charger Gemini flex differ primarily in the way they are connected and used.

Compared to the go-e Charger Gemini flex, the go-e Charger Gemini is permanently mounted on the wall and is only suitable for stationary use. The go-e Charger Gemini must also be connected to the mains supply of your home by an electrician.

So if you are sure that you will only charge your electric car at home and at public charging stations, then the go-e Charger Gemini is probably the better choice.

You can buy the go-e Charger Gemini as an 11 kW or 22 kW charging station in our online shop or from our resellers.

The go-e Charger Gemini flex is a Mobile Wallbox

In contrast, the go-e Charger Gemini flex is a portable wallbox.

This means you can use the charging station at home as well as when traveling, camping or visiting friends and family. Simply plug the wallbox into a red CEE socket or, with a go-e adapter, into a suitable socket and the charging process will start. It's that simple!

Unlike the go-e Charger Gemini, you can install the go-e Charger Gemini flex on the wall and put it into operation yourself. You do not need an electrician to do this.

The mobile wallbox is available as an 11 kW or 22 kW charging station in our online shop or from our dealers.

Are both go-e Chargers eligible for funding?

Basically yes, but this depends on the country in which you apply for the subsidy. For the stationary wallbox, the go-e Charger Gemini, you can receive subsidies in more countries than for the mobile charging station.

Funding for the go-e Charger Gemini

  • Eligible in Austria for private individuals in single-, two- and multi-family homes and for companies (as a charging station not accessible to the public) via Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH in the variants 11 kW and 22 kW.
  • Eligible in Germany for companies and municipalities under the KfW programmes grant 441 and grant 439 in the power variants 11 kW and 22 kW.
  • Eligible in Germany for private individuals via KfW grant 440 in the 11 kW variant (new applications are no longer possible).

Funding for the go-e Charger Gemini flex

The go-e Charger Gemini flex is eligible for funding in Austria for private individuals as an intelligent charging cable via Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH in the power variants 11 kW and 22 kW.

Summary

If you want to charge your e-car not only at home, but also flexibly when travelling, camping or visiting friends and family, then the mobile charging station go-e Charger Gemini flex is the right choice.

If you are sure that you will only charge your e-car at home and at public charging stations, then the stationary wallbox go-e Charger Gemini is probably more suitable for you.

For both charging stations, you can use our go-e Charger app to easily and comfortably check and, if necessary, control the charging process from your couch. But even without an app, you can charge your car easily and conveniently with both wallboxes. In the default setting, the charging process begins immediately after the charging cable is plugged in, without any further app settings.
